Isn't that also our main criticism of china? After WW2, the asians (at the time Japan. Later, China) made it clear that the big wars will not be done with weapons. They will be done with economics. Although DJT is a loose cannon, he is trying to fight fire with fire. Ref: "The Art of War" Unless pootin uses nukes. 1
old man emu Posted December 14, 2024 Author Posted December 14, 2024 Yeah, but the Japanese and the Chinese made plans are were willing to take their time. They were aiming to benefit their whole nation, not a wealthy elite. Admittedly, a wealthy elite did develop, but I think than in both cases, the common people had their situations greatly improved. After all, health care and social services support are free in those countries. 2 1
nomadpete Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Please don't think I believe any lasting good will come of DJT's presidency. I doubt DJT has the knowledge, or wisdom to carry out a tactical economic war. He has more chance to achieve his stated apparent intention to criple his country in multiple ways. 1
rgmwa Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Here's a typical example of how he does things. When asked in his Time Magazine interview whether he would instruct his pick for the Attorney General, Pam Bondi to go after his political enemies, he said "No, that will be up to her". Given that he's previously repeatedly said he would have every right to pursue his political enemies after what they did to him, Pam Bondi knows perfectly well what he's expecting her to do. In the meantime he can stand back and claim he had nothing to do with her decisions. It will be interesting to see what happens if she doesn't follow through. She will probably get the sack. 1 1
facthunter Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Everyone who works for Trump ends up in the $#!t and HE dumps them.. Nev 1
old man emu Posted December 28, 2024 Author Posted December 28, 2024 The media has let a Trump statement go through to the keeper, probably because they did not recognise it for what is was - the Truth. Thousands of column inches and TV broadcast time has been expended on calling out the lies Trump has told over the years, but it seems that the one time that he actually speaks the Truth, no one comments. In a recent speech Trump (at timestamp 0:34 in the video) told the Truth when he said that Elon Musk cannot be President. This is because of a little section of the Constitution (Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President". Elon Musk is not a natural born Citizen. 1 1
onetrack Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Elon doesn't need to be President, he has a direct line to the puppet and controls his strings. Money rules the good ol' USA, and the more money you've got, the more you're worshipped, and the more power you have to direct changes in the countrys direction. Trump only admires Elon because he's been able to become the richest man in the world, and Trump really wanted that title, but he's too dumb to reach it. 2 1

I posted what I did because of the irony of the fact that for once Trump is recorded making a statement that is true, and his no one has made further comment that he did speak the Truth. 2
onetrack Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Yes, that's got to be an extremely rare reportable news event, Trump actually making a truthful statement. 1
facthunter Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 It's part of his Mantra and fits his objectives Ie It's entirely out of SELF INTEREST. Not any desire to be a truthful Person... I wouldn't regard it as a Hope for a change at all. Leopards do not change their spots. It's ALL about HIM. Remember that ALWAYS. Nev 1
old man emu Posted December 28, 2024 Author Posted December 28, 2024 1 hour ago, facthunter said: It's ALL about HIM Of course! I see it as a subtle (maybe not so subtle) warning to Musk to not go too far in trying to control Trump. It also is an assurance to the Country that despite what the media is saying about the influence of Musk on Trump, Trump still holds the winning hand. 1
facthunter Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 He always needs a lot of People to do his dirty work. When they tire of it or get in the $#!t He dumps them. That should become obvious to ALL of them if they had 1/2 a Brain. The GUTLESS GOP will wake up one day and also a few others and it will be ON.. Nev 1

rgmwa Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Yes, not a lot of optimism in that image.... Hope it turns out better. 1
old man emu Posted December 28, 2024 Author Posted December 28, 2024 Maybe the YouTube algorithm is taking over and suggesting certain types of videos (which seem to be anti-Trump), but I'm beginning to get the feeling that the Trump Presidency, based on his agitation of the Masses, is degenerating before it even begins. It seems that the MAGA mob whom he conned into voting for him with false promises is waking up to itself and starting to devour itself like a snake. All the Democrats have to do is buy a box of popcorn and sit in the bleachers to watch the disaster unfold.
onetrack Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 I doubt very much that the GOP will break apart with Trump antics and demands - there's way too many people in the GOP who will support him, no matter how outrageous he becomes. It's when his proclaimed plans for his new Govt (such as massively-increased tariffs) start to affect the income of his billionaire supporters, that the manure will hit the rotating blades. Musk is an interesting case, because he sucks up to China, and makes a large amount of money from Tesla sales in China. But when Trump wants to kick China in the goolies, Musk will be there telling him, it's a really bad idea. Whether he can convince Trump to drop his anti-China stance will be the $64 question. 2 1
