onetrack Posted February 14 Posted February 14 (edited) Germ theory denialism is alive and well in the backwoods of America - and it's spread worldwide, because I came across a local bloke recently who believes that germs and bacteria and viruses, are all fabrications invented by Big Pharma, to keep their pill sales roaring along nicely. He even referred me to a NZ woman doctor, Dr Samantha Bailey, a prodigious social media video maker, who still promotes this rubbish. She was relieved of her NZ medical registration, but still keeps up the BS. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germ_theory_denialism https://www.researchgate.net/publication/354131199_Germs_Can_Not_Do_Not_Cause_Dis-ease_The_germ_theory_of_disease_causation_is_a_Fraud Edited February 14 by onetrack 1 1

Jerry_Atrick Posted February 14 Posted February 14 (edited) Oh.. yeah.. and all the other stuff that you think he is doign that is great.,. and how he is needed to tame the lefties, etc.... So much for not caring who does it as long as it gets done Edited February 14 by Jerry_Atrick
Popular Post Litespeed Posted February 14 Popular Post Posted February 14 Seems like we have made a very fast shift to the right and authoritarian power of the sycophants and billionaire elites to me. Completely stopping all work in any department of government that is a check on power or regulatory body. That includes any scientific agencies, education and health. Knowledge is power and not for the mere masses, they are to get what they are fed. This is the Trump doctrine, all part of a plan he has not read and just makes up depending on who massaged his giant..ego. We are headed for dark times indeed. 5

old man emu Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 Who decreed that the pilot sat on the left-hand side? At least helicopter designers got it correct. 1
Marty_d Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Cars are left hand drive in the US and France. I just assumed they picked that when cockpits became wide enough for side by side seating for that reason. 1
facthunter Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Left hand circuits are used unless there's a good reason not to. . Better vision in turns. Airliners don't have the biggest windows being all pressurised. and heated. Nev 1
ClintonB Posted February 15 Posted February 15 After listening to yank’s conversation on a cruise for the last fortnight, I have learnt they still love the orange f@#kwit to death, have no idea what happens in Australia other than kangaroos, big knives and a bridge with a funny looking building near it. At a dinner table conversation one night someone asked what do you guys hear about Australian politics after a trump conversation was shut down. Answer was nothing. They heard about the big fires a few years ago, but other than that they get no news about us. saddest thing about this is their f#$kup elected causes us no end of pain, and they couldn’t give a flying f#$k. 1 1 2
rgmwa Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Most Americans seem to think the world stops at the US coastline. 1 3
Jerry_Atrick Posted February 15 Posted February 15 I have lived in different parts of the US, including San Francisco, Bismarck ND, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh, with extended stays in different cities as well. It is one of the most inward (I am sure there is as fancier word) looking countries I have been to. I have also stayted in Vancouver, which is not far from the border, and the difference in the news is a little better and there is more in Europe there, but I would be very surprised if Aussie politics made it on Candian screens and newspapers, either. The reality is every country is more inward than outwaord looking, and onlky important stuff form other countries seems to make it into the mainstream news (well, except for Aus, which seems to put US trivia at the end of the news ad nauseum). But, the US takes inward looking to new highs. Some if it, I think is because, there is simply so much shit going on in America at any one time. I was jogging around Rinntenhouse square (Philadelphia) one night, got back to the hotel and took a shower and swiched on the news to a live crossing to Rittenhouse square where a jogger had just been shot. That scared the be-jeepers out of me, I have to admit, as the hotel was about a 5 minute run from the park and by the time I got to the room, had a shower, and switched on the TV could not have been more than another - say 20 minutes.. Choppers were soon overhead as well. As the US media (like Aus, etc) is there to make a profit, it is about getting eyeballs in front of screens, and I can tell you, it is quite compelling viewing in that situation. Of course, they sensationalise everything to get the eyeballs, but sensationalising things close to home will have a bigger impact than something a million miles away. Bill Maher quit his news job as he was unhappy tha news was being dumbed down in the US and sensationalised. Apparently he confronted his editers/producers about it, and they said its all about eyeballs. His response is if you want eyeballs, may as well stop producing news and put porn on a loop - that will guarantee eyeballs. Also, I think there is a culture in the US that they are the worlds superpower and they are the best.. therefore, it is the world that has to worry about them - they don't have to worry about the world.. after all, god resides in America, right? 1 2

Popular Post red750 Posted February 15 Popular Post Posted February 15 BREAKING: Donald Trump's takeover of the Kennedy Center implodes in humiliating fashion as droves of talented celebrities abandon the legendary performing arts center in protest. Trump is radioactive with the people he wants to impress most... Actress Issa Rae announced on Instagram in a brief statement that she is cancelling her "An Evening With Issa Rae" event slated for next month. Tickets will be refunded. "Unfortunately, due to what I believe to be an infringement on the values of an institution that has faithfully celebrated artists of all backgrounds through all mediums, I’ve decided to cancel my appearance at this venue," she wrote. Trump made himself chairman of the center on Wednesday. Earlier this week he removed Biden appointees from the board and rammed in unqualified cronies including Second Lady Usha Vance and White House Chief of staff Susie Wiles. Mega-successful television producer and writer Shonda Rhimes — the woman behind hit shows like Grey's Anatomy, Bridgerton, and Scandal among others — resigned as treasurer of the center's board yesterday. She posted a quote from JFK on her Instagram: "If art is to nourish the roots of our culture, society must set the artist free to follow his vision wherever it takes him." Legendary soprano Renée Fleming resigned as artistic advisor to the center and while she avoided naming Trump, she praised David M. Rubenstein — the center's former chairman who was ousted. Singer and songwriter Ben Folds stepped down from his role as advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra, which the Kennedy Center oversees. "Given developments at the Kennedy Center, effective today I am resigning as artistic adviser to the N.S.O. Mostly, and above all, I will miss the musicians of our nation’s symphony orchestra — just the best!" Folds wrote on Instagram. Adam Weiner of the band Low Cut Connie has also canceled an appearance at the center next month. "Upon learning that this institution that has run nonpartisan for 54 years is now chaired by President Trump himself and his regime, I decided I will not perform there," he wrote on social media, adding that friends and fans were going to be "directly negatively affected by this administration’s policies and messaging." This is the kind of rejection that infuriates Donald Trump more than anything. He has long wanted to be accepted by America's cultural elites. Instead, they see him for the cruel, fascist, incompetent failure he truly is. 2 4
old man emu Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 We should stop comparing Trump to Hitler. Hitler might have been all sorts of a nasty bastard, but at least he had wrote his own manifesto before he gained power. Trump probably thinks that a manifesto is a big booze up for blokes only. 1
