onetrack Posted March 2 Posted March 2 (edited) Quote Zelensky should have negotiated with Putin What kind of alternative reality do you live in? Have you heard about Neville Chamberlains "Peace for Our Time" agreement with Hitler?? There IS no negotiation with Putin over Ukraine, only with the threat of multiple nations constantly coming to Ukraines assistance, will Putin back down on his plans to TOTALLY OWN ALL OF UKRAINE. He's stated that aim time and time again, "Ukraine is, and always will be, part of the Motherland" - and nothing apart from total destruction of his country will see him back down from that claim. Jerry_Atrick Posted March 2 Posted March 2 53 minutes ago, Grumpy Old Nasho said: Cuddling up to the West is the worst thing he has done It is more the west's tepid initial response to the situation that was the issue. However, the is domestic politics, fuelling a continent, and no doubt there was a dimension of Chinese and to a lesser extent, diplomacy to deal with. Are you saying cosying up to Putin would have saved lives - someone who has consistently broken their own ceasefires? One of the issues for Ukraine, and the world now, is that the same type of tyrant is now in the Whitehouse - what security guarantees provided by Chump while he is still in power would it be worth? The bloke is a pathalogical liar, hates Zelensky with a passion as he knows Zelensky is viewed as a real president and with bravery, and of course, Zelensky wouldn't doshonestly dig up dirt on Hunter or Joe Biden from Hunter Biden's business dealings in Ukraine. Frankly, as soon as Trump was elected, the whole game changed for Zelensky and Ukraine. There are only really three options now (apart from the removal of Chump). First, Europe step in, but they are so dependent on the USA, it is a big risk for them. in terms of munitions and weapons; 2, Zelensky finds a successor that can work with Chump, but Chump's word is no bond; 4th, Ukraine keel over.. that would be more harmful for world peace than people realise. For one, with NATO in disarray, Europe will have a touigh time against any Russian offensive; secondly, with the west cowering, other actors may be more emboldened - Nt Korea, China v Taiwan/India/Japan/Phillipines, or indeed, Australia, anyone? 1
Grumpy Old Nasho Posted March 2 Posted March 2 (edited) "Hey Fellas! GON has just given us carte blanche to enter his home and take whatever we want from it. He'll even let us throw him out on the street." You're being ridiculous. Besides I was told to forget about democracy for two years. There are times when democracy is just an illusion. Other times it's out of self interest for those who make it work for just them to get into Parliament, then forget about it until they can make it work for them again further down the line. Bipartisan policies are not democratic. Where is the democracy when the major parties say "We'll support Ukraine for as long as it takes" ... how long is "for as long as it takes"? The idiots are dreaming. Edited March 2 by Grumpy Old Nasho
octave Posted March 2 Posted March 2 It is no secret that Putin would like to restore the borders of the old Soviet Union. The problem with doing a deal to end the war tinvolving Putin keeping the 20% of Ukraine that Russia occupies is that once Russia rebuilds its forces, Putin will surely have another go. Do we then make a new deal and let Russia keep another 20%. How about after Russia occupies all of Ukraine and rolls into Poland? Do we make another deal? Whilst appeasement might stop the war now, you have to consider what this means for the future. We do not say to a thief "You can keep what you have already stolen as long as you don't steal anything else" 1
red750 Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Trump is like a lifesaver standing over a drowning man with a life preserver, saying: I will throw it to you if you give me all your valuables. 1 1
kgwilson Posted March 2 Posted March 2 I haven't been near the U toob lately but last night was surprised at the huge number of US based news, public information organisations, celebrities etc tearing in to trump like there is no tomorrow, correcting the lies and disinformation from his mob.. Some of them fear there may not be a tomorrow if the current debacle continues. After Vance got into Zelenskyy he went on vacation in Vermont only to be met with heaps of protesters waving Ukraine flags and protest banners. He'd have been mobbed in to submission if it wasn't for the secret service. It is good to see that there is a large number of good Americans who know the truth & I am pretty sure there are a lot who voted for him and now wish they hadn't. Apart from tariffs, his bullying and declarations of acquisition of countries & territories, changing place names and supposedly stopping illegal immigration nothing material has happened. Stopping the war in 1 day went to 100 days and then as soon as possible & then to a diversionary attack on Zelenskyy which has only hardened the resolve of the rest of the West to continue support. Europe has already started ramping up its defence industries & while the US has the biggest, the UKs BAE systems is the 6th or 7th largest worldwide. Add Airbus & Thales and others in Europe & the dependence on US suppliers will be heading South. The trouble is all the bluff and bluster, insults and the like as he said "makes great television" all it does is increase opposition to him and damages the reputation of the US from its already low point to an even lower point. 2 2
facthunter Posted March 2 Posted March 2 The WHOLE meeting was STAGED. A 2 on 1 Pile On when a War is actually STILL happening and Putin is attacking Zelenskyy's country, EVEN while this SHAM SHOW is going on. Trump gave it away when HE said " It will MAKE GOOD TELEVISION". Then Zelenskyy gets booted off the Premises to rub it in. Effing disgraceful behaviour by Trump and Vance. Nev 2
red750 Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Marjorie Taylor Greene's partner (forgotten his name) attacked Zelenskyy for not wearing a suit to "the highest offfice in the land", calling it disrespectful, and asked if he even owned a suit. Zelenskyy said he would wear a suit whin the war was over. They are saying it was all a setup, with Trump winking at this creeep before accusing Zelenskyy of flirting with WWIII. 1 1
facthunter Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Trump thinks HE is "Oh SO Clever.". But then HE would say that wouldn't He? . He's Playing games while Ukraine Burns. Doing DEALS with the OPPRESSOR to make $$$$$'s. Same as HIS Proposals for GAZA. Now America really IS the: "GREAT SATAN". . Nev 2

The hypocrisy is mind blowing. Musk never wears a suit in the Oval Office. 1 5
Popular Post Marty_d Posted March 3 Popular Post Posted March 3 Marjorie Taylor Greene's partner has proved his lack of judgement by who he's partnered with. Seems to escape these idiots notice that Zelenskyy is a REAL president unlike that clown they chose, and he's wearing the clothes he does in solidarity with the men and women fighting for his country. They don't want some suit wearing blowhard. 1 2 2
red750 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski called herself 'sick to my stomach' over what she called a Trump administration turn toward Russia as the explosive Oval Office meeting shocked allies and raised fears Moscow would double down on its tactics. Murkowski, a centrist Republican who voted to impeach Trump, condemned the angry clash between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on X, even as fellow Republicans like Secretary of State Marco Rubio heaped praise on Trump for upholding his 'America First' policy. European allies were huddling this weekend, amid fears that Trump's angry statement could trigger a withholding of $4 billion security funding for Ukraine that Trump could freeze. 'This week started with administration officials refusing to acknowledge that Russia started the war in Ukraine. It ends with a tense, shocking conversation in the Oval Office and whispers from the White House that they may try to end all U.S. support for Ukraine,' wrote Murkowski, in some of the most critical comments of Trump from any prominent elected Republican over the war. 'I know foreign policy is not for the faint of heart, but right now, I am sick to my stomach as the administration appears to be walking away from our allies and embracing Putin, a threat to democracy and U.S. values around the world,' she added. 1
facthunter Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Zelenskyy says He will wear a suit WHEN the War is OVER. Trump wouldn't have the Figure to wear a Zelenskyy type suit. It doesn't HIDE FLAB. Nev 1
Grumpy Old Nasho Posted March 3 Posted March 3 (edited) Western leaders used to praise Stalin, and he was far worse than Putin. Has Putin initiated large scale purges, and stood by while millions of Russians starved to death? Edited March 3 by Grumpy Old Nasho
