Grumpy Old Nasho Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Look at what China did to us, they blocked some of our exports and our Parliament panicked realizing they shouldn't have criticized China about spreading Covid in 2019. 1 1
onetrack Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Chinas blocking of Australian exports was an own goal for a number of products. One, we found other markets for the products, and the price often went up - especially for rock lobster (crayfish), which the Chinese can't get enough of. The ban reduced overall sales initially, but the ban simply meant the lobster fishing industry found other countries willing to take our lobsters, and the industry is now more diversified and less reliant on China for income. Secondly, the Chinese stopped importing Australian coal, but that sent coal prices up, and China had to buyer poorer quality coal at higher prices from other countries. Australian coal producers had no trouble selling our coal to places such as India, which competes with China. 1 2
Jerry_Atrick Posted Sunday at 05:10 AM Posted Sunday at 05:10 AM Canada also targeted imports from red states, albeit tariff based rather than banning them. But individual provinces removed US products from booze shops where the government controlled sales 1 2
red750 Posted Monday at 03:09 AM Posted Monday at 03:09 AM Minnesota Republican Representative Tom Emmer was widely mocked after he nearly called President Donald Trump "President c*nt" before catching himself while speaking at a National Republican Congressional Committee dinner on Tuesday. 1 2
red750 Posted Monday at 03:11 AM Posted Monday at 03:11 AM I think it says a lot that the US press consistantly refers to him as "former President Trump".
red750 Posted Monday at 03:50 AM Posted Monday at 03:50 AM They have worked out why Trump considers asylum seekers are the mental rejects of other countries. He misunderstands the use of the word asylum - if you are an asylum seeker, you must have come from a mental asylum. 1 3

red750 Posted Tuesday at 12:28 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:28 AM Following his recent medical checkup, it has been recommended that Trump has a colonoscopy, but it has been pencilled in for 2027. It is anticipated that J.D.Vance will fill his chair during his absence. 1 1
Marty_d Posted Tuesday at 12:37 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:37 AM (edited) I'd like his colonoscopy to follow Hancock's method in the movie "Hancock". With Vance (or Musk) being the person to get the close view. Edited Tuesday at 12:38 AM by Marty_d 1 2
rgmwa Posted Wednesday at 04:20 AM Posted Wednesday at 04:20 AM This quote sums up America's problem with China quite succinctly. Whether Trump can fix it is debatable at this point, but he can certainly do a lot of damage to America and the rest of the world with his clumsy attempts at fixing it. “President Trump is attempting to change the global order of China using cheap labour to produce goods which are exported to US consumers who collectively pay for the goods through debt which is funded by China through the purchase of US-denominated bonds,” says Perpetual’s head of investment strategy, Matt Sherwood. 2
facthunter Posted Wednesday at 08:19 AM Posted Wednesday at 08:19 AM IF he passes his Colonoscopy he can rightly claim to be a Perfect R Sole. . Bolshy Scotty from Marketing drew the Ire of the Chinese with the "We are the Tuff Guys" Line. Dutton is continuing it. Any one who admired Trump is Imitating a Lead Balloon at the Moment. Clive's Trumpet of Irrelevance is on a sour note. How sad. Nev 2

red750 Posted Thursday at 04:02 AM Posted Thursday at 04:02 AM El Salvadore prison scene . . . Most have no criminal record in the US or El Salvadore. Just Trump's vindictiveness.

True, but apparently under the laws involved in this case, he has the authority to appoint an independent prosecutor if the DOJ tries to dismiss it. The odds are still against him as there's no way Trump's administration will bring all the deportees back for hearings, but at least he's doing his job. It will be interesting to see what happens if the administration is charged with criminal contempt for defying his orders. 2

ClintonB Posted Thursday at 10:08 AM Posted Thursday at 10:08 AM Maybe Trump should try harder to get a visit with him, for all of our sakes. A maccas burger full of broken lightbulbs and rat poison should do it. 1
