His plan is to ‘win’ and he doesn’t care about any collateral damage to other countries.

Isn't that also our main criticism of china?

After WW2, the asians (at the time Japan. Later, China) made it clear that the big wars will not be done with weapons. They will be done with economics. Although DJT is a loose cannon, he is trying to fight fire with fire.

Yeah, but the Japanese and the Chinese made plans are were willing to take their time. They were aiming to benefit their whole nation, not a wealthy elite. Admittedly, a wealthy elite did develop, but I think than in both cases, the common people had their situations greatly improved. After all, health care and social services support are free in those countries.

Please don't think I believe any lasting good will come of DJT's presidency.

I doubt DJT has the knowledge, or wisdom to carry out a tactical economic war. He has more chance to achieve his stated apparent intention to criple his country in multiple ways.

Here's a typical example of how he does things. When asked in his Time Magazine interview whether he would instruct his pick for the Attorney General, Pam Bondi to go after his political enemies, he said "No, that will be up to her". Given that he's previously repeatedly said he would have every right to pursue his political enemies after what they did to him, Pam Bondi knows perfectly well what he's expecting her to do. In the meantime he can stand back and claim he had nothing to do with her decisions. It will be interesting to see what happens if she doesn't follow through. She will probably get the sack.
