Those US drone sightings

Have you been following this story over the past week? Sightings of large drones at night in several areas of USA, notably over New York. Large meaning up to car size, with endurance of 2-3 hours. I have been checking stories and as of today there is no theory about what they might be or where from. One senator thinks they are Iranian but without evidence.

Not particularly following but my son showed me some videos. There's obviously something odd going on, but I would have thought someone would have flown up to take a closer look by now. They aren't very high or going very fast. You have to wonder why they're flying around in various formations with strobes and nav lights on so that anyone can see them. They're obviously not trying to hide. It shouldn't be that hard to find out what they are and what they're doing. Probably the high tech equivalent of crop circles where the aim is to get noticed and get some conspiracy theories circulating.

I've never heard anything about this previously - the Deep State agents in the Gubbmint are obviously keeping me in the dark! If I was a Murrican, I'd be out there with my AR-15, with the biggest magazine I could buy, blasting them spies outta the sky!!!

 

For what it's worth, I'd hazard a guess it's Amazon or some other hi-tech retailer trialling new delivery drones.

You can't make me believe that a military superpower that the USA is cannot identify what these things are, or track them to landing places. 

 

From the above reference: The Pentagon has also said they are not US military drones. All I can do is to quote Juliet, “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet”. Another designation of these things is unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Feel free to create a name for them yourself. Then the Pentagon could use your name and would be correct in saying that they are not "US military drones".

I find it hard to believe that no-one has zoomed in on the drones with a powerful lens, to get a good photo, to ID what the drones actually are?

Drones don't have a lot of flying time before the batteries run out so you would think it would be a simple matter to send someone up in a helicopter to follow them home. It can't be that hard.

Well, drones are too small to show up on radar. (Unless they are car size)

 

Don't have a transponder to ident themselves.

 

Unlikely to obey CTA rules (none have been seen in prohibited areas).

 

Some drones are cheap and appeal to dickheads.

 

Conspiricy nuts are generally paranoid.

 

Malicious drone operators are unlikely to show red/green nav lights.

 

I sense the media is short of real news at the moment.

Since they are being seen over the States which are close to the Canadian border, they must be carrying illegal immigrants delivering great amounts of Fentanyl across the border.

YouToob is full of news stories and experts on the mystery drones. One police officer in NJ reported he sighted 50 of them coming in from off the ocean. They are well lit, some with multiple-coloured lights, and reported to be 8 to 10 feet in diameter and travelling at an altitude of around 300 feet.

The U.S. Coastguard put up one of their drones to try and gain a visual sighting or close-up video to ID the craft - and they reported their investigative drone was left standing by the speed of the mystery drones, which flew off at terrific speed, and virtually vanished.

The amazing part to me is how no military jets have been scrambled to intercept the airborne mysteries. Many Governors and people in authority are clamouring for some serious official action to ID the craft.

I think the authorities are saying it is a mass hysteria, and the larger drones are actually light aircraft.

What is worrying is worrying ius the members of the legislature andf the president elect are calling for people to shjoot them down because, y'know, they are well trained and can spot say a light aircraft or balloon or glider.. And, y'know.. private gun owners in the US are highjly trained and not trigger happy...

Has anyone stopped to consider that the lights might be meteors? This time of year there are several well known, and well predicted meteor showers. Meteors contain a variety of chemicals which emit a variety of colours as they burn.

What I find interesting is that the authorities claim that many of the reported drone sightings are actually light aircraft. But there are many that are not. Why haven't aircraft, ATC and radar operators picked up these drones and issued advisory warnings? A number of these reported sightings have been over airfields, and I'd be pretty confident in saying that radar could pick up a flying object that is 8 to 10 feet in diameter.

How often do meteors, comets, alien spacefraft or chinese spy balloons have red/green nav lights?

Good point. 

However, when you look up in a dark sky at an object, unless you already know how big it is and there is a known object  beside it you  have no terms of reference to gauge height, size or speed.

 

So I  disregard the claims of 'size of an SUV' etc.

 

And radar often fails to pick up things at lower altitudes - FlightRadar 24 often shows gaps in flight paths around my place, due to terrain obstructions.

 

It soinds like these alleged sightings are too brief for proper verification.

Surely it would only take a Cessna flight to solve this mystery. It is interesting that they appear to respect airspace, which leads me to believe that they are quite harmless and very likely to be a paranoid thing.

I still can't believe that they did this, but Kamala did show a distressing tendency to agree with woke ideas. One of the worst of these was the insistence on letting  boxers claim to be women. Albanese should wake up and become an enemy of some of the silliest woke ideas or he will join the rout, which actually started in Europe, well before trump cashed in.
