I find it amusing that the only talk is of how the UK will suffer. Everyone seems to conveniently forget that the Euro is at major risk from the probable Deutsche Bank collapse, and the EU have lost one of only a few countries that actually contribute anything.

Best car I ever had, the 6 cylinder P76... 600,000 km and nothing serious wrong.

I'd still be driving it but it became too unfashionable for my wife.

George Soros threatened that he would trash the British economy if WE. . .didn't vote HIS way. . . . .

Well,. . . . .Screw you George.

Phil Perry ( #Vote Leave Midlands )

I didn't know who George Soros was so I googled him. Sounds like an eminently reasonable man... anyone who said they'd give away their entire fortune to someone who could guarantee George Dubya's removal has my approval...

He's Hillary and Bill's good mate.

Not entirely convinced Soros is a man you want to be supporting.

He is a master manipulator and currency speculator. He is pretty much able to single-handedly trash a small to medium sized country's currency if he gets the desire. He "bets" billions of dollars at a time on currency moves and has been previously convicted of insider trading. Not the sort of guy I'd socialise with.

By the same token I'm not entirely convinced the UK's move out of the EU is a good idea either. It seems to be driven by some fairly base nationalistic instincts. It generally pays in the modern inter-connected world to be pretty chummy with your neighbours when they're a mostly friendly lot, rather than distancing yourself from them.

He is the Slimy Barstard behind the New World Order bollix mate. . . . if I were you, I'd research him a bit more. He made Billions pushing the UK out of the European Exchange rate Mechanism in the 1970s and is behind most of the dodgy financial dealings going on today . . . don't be fooled by his philanthropic website please,. . .. he's about as philanthropic as count bloody dracula.

Good description of Soros.

Addressing your second paragraph, Just one simple question, although an important one. . . . Would you, or any other Australian be quite happy for All of your Governmental lawmakers and your Courts, up to and including the Supreme Court of Australia to be totally subordinate to a small back street court in Auckland with no veto upon it's pronouncements ?

Answers on a postcard.

Oh come on Phil.....be realistic. The Kiwis wouldn't even be able to spell "pronouncement", let alone make one!

Seriously though, the Lisbon Treaty sets the framework for European law overriding national law and it has been around since 1963 and the UK accepted the principle in 1972. Why all the fuss in 2016, 44 years later?

A serious mistake,. . .all promoted and well dressed by UK politicians of the day as something entirely different, as was most of the story in the beginning AND during the signing of more recent 'Treaties' The Maastricht Treaty - John Major said,. . "Nothing to worry about here, this just clarifes a few things. . . move on, nothing to see. . The Lisbon Treaty. . . .Gordon Brown said " Look, this is just a tidying up excercise, . . nothing to worry about"

But he sneaked across the Channel and signed it anyway against a wail of protests from MPs of all colours and the media at the time. . . . Lies, Lies, obfuscation and more Lies. . . . Quite possibly by well meaning people, but that I think is perhaps being a little TOO kind.

Anyway, the stupidity of being attached to this crumbling crooked edifice has dawned on people over the last few years, culminating in what happened today. Without people like Nigel Farage, who has campaigned ceaselessly from the Inside of the EU for 20 years, pointing out and publicising all of their crooked dirty deals and being villified for his trouble, we would Never have HAD this referendum.

With a decent withdrawal negotiating team, we won't have to worry about it for much longer thankfully. The sooner Article 50, which is designed for a member state to leave the union ( never happened yet ) is invoked, the clawback can begin in earnest.

I have no doubt that this will take time. A 2 year period is quoted as a maximum in the treaty. Following the expiry of this, if we are not happy with any deal, or have not finished the extrication process, we, as a state, are legally allowed by the treaty to simply walk away into the sunset.

I would be very surprised if the EU will last that long to be honest, 50% of the Dutch population are demanding a referendum on withdrawal, Italy is about to go bust, France are also making grumbling noises ( In French ) about leaving as well, The Czechs are very unhappy, the Hungarians have built a barbed wire wall around the country to prevent unwanted migrants from entry, Switzerland have got tanks protecting border pass entry points,

It is rapidly unwinding.

The largest German Bank, Deutchebank, are teetering on the edge of financial extiction. The free money tree is running out, and printing many more billion Euro notes won't help much.

Bye Bye EU and bloody good riddance.

Disagree on Deutschebank. Sure they have problems to fix and they've been caught in a bunch of recent scandals and paid very heavy fines which has partly led to their €6 billion loss, but they have €62 billion in equity and over €1.6 trillion in assets. It's pie in the sky to think they're going under any time soon!

I always like to take a deep breath before making big decisions while irritated, lest I cut off my nose to spite my face.

In 2 years time every british company that has EU contracts and customers will have spun off their companies into the EU and left the bits and pieces behind to service the EU market. Going to be an interesting time to live in England.

OK Sir.

Not going to argue about international finance, to do so I will have to go back and re-read the source, which I believe was the Financial Times less than three weeks ago, nothing to do with the referendu, more about bailing out Greece ( again ) which is nothing to do with bailing the Greek people, rather covering their already astonishing level of previous indebtedness. I shall check and get back to you on this as I find it quite fascinating.

Deep breath taken.

Now going to barbecue / champagne reception to honour all the footsloggers and leafleteers / town centre stand operators at local Vote Leave HQ.

I shall be returning by taxi. ( Or walking )

Phil.
