Just updated my windows 10 with the latest update and I lost all my old windows 7 games like Chess Titans. Tried reinstalling the files but the games won't start...BLOODY Microsoft

Hate windows 8/10 lucky I still have windows 7 pro on laptop and running linux mint 18 on desktop.

I had win 10 installed and I got a adapted copy of the win 7 games that worked with win 10 but now with the anniversary update they have stopped working...I like my chess

Neil, if you are referring to the daughter Caitlin, I have no hair left from her but then I would give my arms and legs for her.

 

Caitlin has her year 12 formal coming up and guess who she wants to dress her up for it, not her "mummy" but me, yes me, and that's when the fight started...Corrine is not very happy about that but Caitlin says I know what makes her look beautiful, not that she isn't already beautiful...I call her Beaut as her nik name, short for beautiful.

I had to format my win10 & reinstall it, (it was stop-start all the time ) the install & following upgrade took an overnight 20 hours.

 

All working good again.

How many days between that last update ,and this, on a tablet now as yesterday, s update froze and killed the poor old desktop,

 

Tried my Samsung Galaxy and it wont load this site, having to use wifey,s Galaxy which works fine.

 

Will take the Hd in for partisioning .i

HardDrive partitioned, but no start, seemto need, master Boot file.

 

back to the Galaxy, seems very slow in comparison to the old Quad Core desk top.

Question for you computer experts...

 

I like the idea of virtual reality but don't want to rush in too fast and find its a disappointment. I did this with Kinect, buying it for the grandkids.

 

But here in the northern suburbs of Adelaide I can't find a place to try it out. Yes we have Harvey Normans and JB's but no demos from them yet.

 

4 questions: 1.Which is the best VR sort? They have a huge difference in price.

 

2. should I wait for the Microsoft thing?

 

3. should I refuse to buy anything until I have had a proper demo?

 

4. will the flight simulators be so good they will kill off real flying?

Try the cheapie cardboard viser that yyou put the smart-phone into.

Thanks space, but I'm too dumb to work a smart phone. The wife has one which she sure wouldn't let me play with.

 

And I've been told that VR doesn't work properly unless you have the good high-end gear. This is a hard thing for us cheapskates to come to grips with I know. If it's true....

Just back on the desk-top after paying to have Win10 reinstalled. ($120)

 

As soon as I tried to shut down, it wants to "update & close".

 

Next I get.

Press f8 for startup settings, (no good)

 

Press F9 to use a different operating system, (restarts)

 

TO

 

updating again.

 

Three pages of updates, in a short, two days

 

At this rate I'll need a very large HD to store all this crap updates.

Just checked my data usage

 

windows upgrade :25.3 gigs

 

Utorrent : 3.7 gigs. includes two movies from Netflix.

 

edge : 359 mb

 

From that, It looks like the big Windows is DATA mining.

 

At the month's end Data for Win10 is 26.8 Gig.

 

And not a full month at that.
