Old Koreelah Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 The hammock- both the word and the device- was borrowed from South American natives. It helped the British build an empire (they could fit more sailors on their ships than the enemy.)
Phil Perry Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Perhaps Phil, people are giving up on the assumption that the market will fix all ills when all it does is seek the maximum profit in the shortest time frame. Toll roads in this country are being seen as a good example, where you pay serious money to be stuck in long traffic jambs, while tolls are increased.. I can't stand the BBC either but you can change to another station if it affects your sanity. Britain does things I can't understand. They accept a level of surveillance at the highest level in the world, seemingly without question, as an example. They also have unelected people in the Upper House and agonise over "CLASS", whatever that is..Nev I COULD change to another station Nev,. . .but in the UK, the big four, BBC SKY CH4 and ITV 'News' all 'Parrot' exactly the same narrative, you couldn't get a fag paper between the tales peddled by all of them. This is the most irritating part of all.

Phil Perry Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Maybe they're telling the truth? (...I'll get me 'at...) Fair doos Marty, the SKY Saturday evening news weather lady said that it would Definitely NOT rain in Birmingham yesterday ( Sunday 25th ) She was telling the TRUTH. . . .I was shocked and stunned. . . .
Phil Perry Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Bloomin rainin' in sooomahsait.... Need a bit O' wadder to 'elp the Soider appulz grows moi luvly. . . .
nomadpete Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Speak the Queens English, please! Y'all live a lot closer to her anywhoo.
Bruce Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Queen Adelaide didn't speak the queen's english, she spoke German. And apparently Bonny Prince Charlie only spoke Spanish. This last one must be true, cos it was told on television by a Scottish comedian.
Marty_d Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Which Princess Mary? If it's the one who ended up in Denmark, she started off by speaking English.
