M61A1 Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 There was, they were called the Aboriginals. Like it or not Australia is a land of immigrants, and has been for the last 230 years. Every wave of immigration - English, Chinese, Greek, Italian, Vietnamese - brings a whole bunch of changes to the overall culture. Most of these are positive, some are negative. If you're going to argue which one caused the most harm to the incumbents then I'd suggest you go back to 1788. Yes, but instead of repeating the problems that poor border control caused in 1788, we should at least learn from it.

I just had a mental image of Cook and his officers being locked in Manus Island by aboriginies. "You can't do this to us, we're bleddy English, don't you know!!"

Bruce Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 There was a great stunt where some Aborigines went up the Thames and "discovered" England for the Aboriginal people and declared it "Terra Nullius".
