Is the air actually hotter near the equator than away from it, or is it an apparent feeling of heat because the humidity is so high one's evaporative cooling fails?

The THERMAL Equator is roughly directly below where the sun TRACKS seasonally with a bit of lag and movement towards land masses. The line known as the Inter-Tropic Convergence  zone is similar. Air rises from there and flows towards it from both sides  at lower levels. Coriolis effect affects wind direction.  Nev
