facthunter Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Most people live in the cities these days and there's no trend the other way very likely to change anything. Face reality. . Nev.
spacesailor Posted March 25 Posted March 25 if you live In the city ( CBD ) you should use public Transport. But city dwellers earn far more , & buy up- market luxury cars. spacesailor
Marty_d Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Which century are you living in Spacey? Cities are full of struggling students and wage slaves. Certain leafy suburbs may have a concentration of mansions, but the truly rich live far from the hoi polloi. 1

onetrack Posted March 25 Posted March 25 I think I can now see at least one reason why the African natives don't rule the world with their technological and scientific developments.
spacesailor Posted March 26 Posted March 26 I could live with that clock . But not with the French metric time clock. Would someone / anyone put a picture of that metric clockface here . spacesailor 1
Admin Posted March 26 Posted March 26 I would be much happier with a metric clock...everything to the base 1 is much easier 1 1
facthunter Posted March 26 Posted March 26 I'm a 24 Hour clock person. No AM/ PM confusion .ARC to time is easier too with your navigation. Nev 2

spacesailor Posted March 26 Posted March 26 (edited) Try jogging , that shakes your body. Metrics ! How far do you travel at, 0.06 klmrs . ( my jogging circuit ) I do a little more now . spacesailor Edited March 26 by spacesailor A little more !
old man emu Posted March 26 Posted March 26 From my sister's front gate to the next door neighbour's mailbox is 1200 metres, so out and back is 2400 metres (1.5 miles), which I do in 30 minutes. That means I'm walking at 3 mph or 4.8 kph, or 1.33 m/s. 2
facthunter Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Try increasing your GATE. You'll eventually get the swing of it.. Nev 1
spacesailor Posted March 27 Posted March 27 My 0.06 klmrs jog , is the halfway on my 3 klmtrs exercise walk. Is it 6 mtrs or 60 / 600 mtrs . spacesailor
Marty_d Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Metric system is very sensible Spacey. Kilo = 1,000. So kilometre is 1,000 metres. 0.6 km would be 600 metres, 0.06 would be 60 metres, 0.006 would be 6 metres. None of this inch/foot/yard/furlong/cubit/mile nonsense. All you need are millimetre, 1000 of them = metre, 1000 of them = kilometre. Now you can measure everything (except for very small distances - micrometre - or very large distances - light years / minutes / seconds). 1
