facthunter Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 You've gotta be sharp, but I'll have what you're having Marty. There's something different about Tassie. Nev
Cosmick Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 They used to call them Cut throat razors. Strop them on a leather belt. Today the same look but with "one use" blades. Nev The old man used the razor belt on us when we were kids.
facthunter Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 That sort of thing did happen. I do recall mentioning to my father that I could now run faster than he could, so things would change. Nev
old man emu Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 The old man used the razor belt on us when we were kids. Did it sharpen your cutting wit?
Bruce Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 A good cautionary story about corporal punishment to kids( true story): There was this stocky youth in Alice Springs whose father belted him once too often and it turned into a fight which the 14 year-old son won. The father had a mental breakdown and was sent " down south " never to be heard of again. The son achieved more fame as a seventeen year old for rolling his ute on account of how his girlfriend was playing with him at the time. Us 15 year-olds were jealous.
facthunter Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Yes, not everyone gets to own a ute. (chick magnet) Who spilled the beans?. Not good form.. Nev

I thought the country folk had a roll in the hay, not in the ute.
Bruce Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 The only hay in Alice Springs came up on the train. My sister used to beg the loose bits for her horse, making sure that the bales were disturbed enough to make more loose bits for next time. They were those small bales you don't see much these days. I would have loved a ute, but in those days I thought that girls were like angels and completely unattainable so it wouldn't have helped much.

facthunter Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Why don't people who don't know where they left their phone just ring it. BEFORE the battery goes flat. Nev
Admin Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 My kids are always losing their phone but they always have their phone on low vibrate
old man emu Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Did you know that kids' phones have a special setting switch. When activated, it recognizes in-coming calls from parents' phones and ignores them.
