Marty_d Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 2 for 3 pounds? Lurpack AND her sister? (Funny name, that. Is that an English thing?)
onetrack Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 The company is actually Danish, the correct spelling is Lurpak - and the name comes from the ancient Danish musical instrument, the "Lur" - which instrument is featured as the logo on the butter packaging. After having just been to the Gold Coast for 10 days, and seen the amount of young girls walking around the streets of Burleigh Heads in scanty swimsuits, she wouldn't be out of place there, one little bit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lurpak
onetrack Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 The photo may be nearly 40 years old, but the capitalistic principles stay the same .........
red750 Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Due to the coronavirus, there is a shortage of facemasks in China.
planedriver Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 2 for 3 pounds? Lurpack AND her sister? (Funny name, that. Is that an English thing?) And your misses wonders why you take so bloody long at the grocery store, Have we got some news for her!
red750 Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Maybe not a literal translation, but the above reads: When you can read this, my wife has fallen off.
nomadpete Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 The rather rougher Aussie version reads.... "If you can read this, the bitch has fallen off again!"
Phil Perry Posted February 4, 2020 Author Posted February 4, 2020 2 for 3 pounds? Lurpack AND her sister? (Funny name, that. Is that an English thing?) What ? The Lady or the Butter ? Lurpack's a real old brand from the 1950s. . . ( rather Like me )
Marty_d Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 And your misses wonders why you take so bloody long at the grocery store, Have we got some news for her! Trust me, you don't see anyone dressed like her, even in the middle of a Tassie summer.

old man emu Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 Windsor Castle burning down wasn't so horribilis after all.
Marty_d Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 NEW. . .COMMEMORATIVE COIN CELEBRATING THE LIVE OF PRINCE ANDREW. . . Hmmm... is there something ironic about you re-purposing a Brexit meme Phil...?
Phil Perry Posted February 5, 2020 Author Posted February 5, 2020 Nah, not yet. Ask me when we've REALLY left the EU.
Jerry_Atrick Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 After reading and partaking in the Brexit thread... How appropo! Nice one Mr, SNAG Perry... ?
onetrack Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 One would hope that BREXIT also involved sending home all those tens of thousands of Mad Muzzies that have invaded the place, and brought Islamic terrorism to every Brit (and Australians) in the street. But I guess not, that's just not on the radar of those in charge of destroying Britain. It's a pity these so-called political "leaders", who were soft on immigration, ignored Enoch Powell's warnings. I guess no-one in the power circles in Britain has noticed, that Japan, with its exceptionally tight immigration rules, doesn't have a Mad Muzzie, or home-grown terrorism, problem.
willedoo Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Another one (won?) for @willedoo Maybe an element of truth in that, Jerry. They start them young. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRCgl3yOM3U
Litespeed Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 so that's what Tony Abbott does in his spare time.
