You can still buy electric kettles that fit into a cigarette lighter plug!

 

The problem today, is that many current vehicles no longer provide a cigarette lighter! - but they still have the 12V plug socket!

 

This means you can no longer have a smoke, while you make a coffee, while you're driving along the highway!!

Those electric kettles can burn out your wiring harness unless you rig up your own wiring direct to the battery with heavier wire. Nev

Why wouldn't you just make the coffee at home and use a thermos?  Unless you're driving more than 2 hours, it'll still be hot.
