facthunter Posted November 14, 2021 Posted November 14, 2021 Got the same running gear as a Checker CAB. Plymouth Cranbrook in Australia.Post WW2. Six cyl Sidevalve. About as boring mechanically as could be conceived. Reliable enough. Not efficient. Nev
red750 Posted November 14, 2021 Posted November 14, 2021 I think you missed the point, Nev. Cosmick got it. The old B&W TV show from the 50's or 60's, "Car 54 - Where Are You?"
nomadpete Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 Back in the late 30's there were promises of large lifting body commercial airliners. The pictures showed them with a massive delta wing, fat enough for all the passengers to occupy the wing and walk around at will as if it was an oceanliner. Just think what happens to W&B when they all wander to the front to look at the view! 1
Jerry_Atrick Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 Something like what Airbus has in this vid 1
nomadpete Posted November 21, 2021 Posted November 21, 2021 Like this. It belongs in 'silly pictures' because its not likely anyone would come up with a lightweight structure that would withstand pressurisation.
red750 Posted November 21, 2021 Posted November 21, 2021 Not silly, but I didn't think it warranted a thread on its own.
