onetrack Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 At least they admit the chorizo actually has some beef in it? And it contains defatted soy grits? Defatted soy grits have the oil extracted by using a petroleum solvent - and it is often hexane. But now, authorities are starting to ban hexane as a solvent for oil extraction from soybeans - after they found workers in a defatting plant that used hexane, were suffering from "nervous disorders". In other words, the hexane, as a direct petroleum product, was adversely affecting their nervous systems. Yet, defatting using solvent extraction still goes on, with many plants using ethanol instead. Defatting was previously done by simple hydraulic pressing, it's only since after WW2 that widespread use of petroleum products for food refining, has occurred in food processing plants. I cannot believe the amount of foods that Americans eat that are highly processed utilising petroleum products. Little wonder high level of cancers and a large number of other mental disorders are prevalent in America. It might also explain the high number of Trump voters. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4397347/ 1 1 1

onetrack Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 (edited) While we're on the food subject - how's this for marketing?? The only problem being, if you eat a lot of those buns, you won't end up with a "six-pack" on your stomach, that's for sure! Edited February 5, 2023 by onetrack 2

onetrack Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 I sure do remember them, often your day was spent working out where the public phones were so you could make contact with family and business contacts. Reverse charge calls cost more, but saved carrying change. 1
old man emu Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 Did the paint they used in those phone boxes come from the same mob who makes this? 1
