They throw their cigarette buts away & their empty drink bottles !.

Then when rhey have a spill,  their rubbish is left there forever.

Has anyone seen a cyclist put their empty fag packet into their pocket .

Or

Take home their empty booze bottle .

I volunteered for ' Sailability ' , one cycling marathon,  & was dismayed at their habits .

Are you blaming the muck on car driver's

I would suggest that discarded  drink bottles on the roadside in much more like tossed out a car window than from a cyclist. For a start the average cyclist tends to carry refillable water bottles.   As for cigarette butts I would think that the majority of keen cyclists or not smokers.

I ride a bicycle, motorcycle drive a car and a 4wd. I haven't thrown a bottle, wrapper or ciggy butt on the ground for at least 50 years.

But I have had repeated flat cycle tyres from shattered drink bottles on the roadside. Generally it seems to be local motorists that I see throwing waste out of car windows.

That is something that has diminished greatly since I was a lad. I put it down to RBT, which has basically eliminated drinking while driving. Another help has been the beverage container cash-back. It is common to see retired persons picking up drink containers from the side of the road. Now that I am watching my pennies, when I finish a bottled drink whilst travelling, I'll take it home to add to the collection.Even the amount of litter along the roads is nowhere as much as it used to be.
