Popular Post Old Koreelah Posted June 6, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 6, 2023 Red where did you find that image? Was it one of the right-wing US sources that runs a hate campaign against AOC because she scares the pants off them? Intellligent, well educated and capable, she runs rings around the gutter tactics of the Republican hacks. 2 3

Jerry_Atrick Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 In light of the current PWC controversy engulfing Australia at the moment, I did have a laugh at this: 1 1

old man emu Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 When you were in your hooning days, weren't traffic lights treated as timing lights for drag racing? 1
facthunter Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Yeah Always wanted a Morris Minor with A Chrysler HEMI on nitro in it. Nev 2
onetrack Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 When I had a hot EH Holden ute with the factory "big" 179 engine, I was king of the traffic light drags - until the night a 105E Anglia sporting a souped up Holden motor, left me in its dust!! I think it took me years to recover from the shock of being beaten by a bloody Anglia!! The Cusso's and Chrysler Royal V8's were the ones we always picked on - with the EH 179, I could beat them up to about 70kmh, which is when we backed off, for fear of being caught speeding! But if the Cusso or Chrysler Royal driver kept their foot planted, they could beat us, once they got wound up! I've never forgotten the night we dragged a beat-up old Cusso East along St Georges Tce in Perth. Where St Georges Tce meets Adelaide Tce at the intersection with Victoria Ave, there's a slight dog-leg in the road - and there used to be a hump in the middle of the intersection. The Cusso wound up along St Georges Tce and flew past us about 400 metres before the intersection - but as we watched in amazement, the Cusso got airborne at about 80kmh over the hump - and the RH back door fell open - complete with the back seat passenger hanging onto the door for dear life, via his arm out the open window!! Next second, we saw a couple of pairs of arms from further inside the Cusso, grab the hapless free-floating passenger, and they dragged the passenger back in, and shut the door!! - all without losing a single MPH in speed!! 2
facthunter Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Do you recall the WA plates with "WA, land of Excitement". Some wit's removed "IT" and replaced it with "r". . . Nothing's sacred. Nev 1
onetrack Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 It was actually "State of Excitement". That would have taken some extensive thought, to think that one up. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:WA_State_of_Excitement_numberplate_6BK_154.jpg
facthunter Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Might have had something to do with the WA police? . They were exciting. Nev 1
onetrack Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 The only excitement around the W.A. Police was when the Gypsy Jokers car-bombed former CIB chief detective, Don Hancock, to even the score for Hancock shooting the Gypsy Joker Billy Grierson, after Grierson threatened to rape Hancocks wife and daughter, after he was turfed out of Hancocks Ora Banda Tavern. The W.A. Police certainly had their fair share of corruption and total incompetence. One former Commissioner is reported to have been one of the most corrupt cops in Australia - and he was never uncovered, nor charged for anything. There's much talk about the "Purple Circle", the closed group that ran the W.A. CIB and who were extremely powerful and totally corrupt. Hancock was one of them, and the worst of them was Bernie Johnson, a criminal thug in police uniform. Bernie Johnson is credited with murdering the prominent madam Shirley Finn, when she said she was going to expose Johnson's corruption. 1 2 1
