The staircase photo has been reversed, it's actually "Jacobs Ladder" on St Helena Island. The three Atlantic islands of St Helena, Ascension Island and Tristan da Cunha are British Overseas Territory.  St Helena is located nearly 2000kms due W from the West African Coastline around the South of Angola. St Helena was discovered by the Portuguese in 1502, and the island provided a superb shipping haven in the South Atlantic. The Portuguese found an island full of trees and plenty of fresh water, so they introduced fruit trees and livestock and planted vegetables.

I’ve seen similar congestion at Sydney airport and carried my bags up the stairs, overtaking lots of younger people standing on the mechanical monster- and getting a good heart/lung workout for free.
