The word is that Toyota are preparing to launch EV's in a couple of years with solid-state batteries that are going to be a substantial leap in technology.

But most of the Japanese manufacturers are hedging their bets, and they want hydrogen to play a large part in their energy sources, too.

The Japanese Govt has poured multiple billions in grants into H2 research, and Toyota and Honda are amongst the very few producing H2-powered vehicles.

But Toyota keep saying that everything going electric is not the answer, they claim there will always be a demand for alternative power sources, and fossil-fuel power, for some time to come.
