Nev Watch the first episode of 3 Body Problem (or read the books, which are excellent). China during the Cultural Revolution was no place to be an academic either. 1

The cubit is an ancient unit of length based on the distance from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger. It was primarily associated with the Sumerians, Egyptians, and Israelites. Cubits of various lengths were employed in many parts of the world in antiquity, during the Middle Ages and as recently as early modern times. These lengths typically ranged from 44.4 to 52.92 cm (1 ft 5+1⁄2 in to 1 ft 8+13⁄16 in), with an ancient Roman cubit being as long as 120 cm (3 ft 11 in). 2

nomadpete Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) Aaah. Land of free rein capitalism. There is always some way to skim dollars from those around you. And over here we still hear people saying..... 'Nobody will buy those new cars, there won't be anywhere to charge them.' Edited March 29 by nomadpete 2
Jerry_Atrick Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Quite frankly, it looks like economics at work. Allocation of scarce resources against unlimited wants; demand is increasing for EVs, someone has to support them, let's put more resources into that rather than a declining industry of ICE vehicles. Capitalsim (regulated rather than totally free) is still the most efficient mechanism of allocating resources. 1
red750 Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Well, that's the cooker clock adjusted, now for the car......! 2
