facthunter Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 The taste of meat depends a lot on how it's fed in the period before slaughter. Horse meat is much redder than steaks. It used to be displayed at the open markets common in France. Yes the steak is cut thin. Just over a cm and just hot singed (sealed) on each side. It's still raw in the middle. I enjoyed everyone giving me theirs when it was to raw for them. Australians want it cooked right through and shrunk to about 1/2 size. Ask for it like that and you will still get a raw one. The French know a barbarian when they see one. Escargot's.. lots of oil and garlic in France and they are removed and put back in the shell numerous times I believe. I don't think it would matter what it was, It just tastes of strong garlic. In Spain they are something else literally. Comes out in strings and blobs. Pays to have a generous amount of red wine to wash it down or stick to the Paella. Frog's legs are like transistorised chicken legs. Tiny and too fussy but taste just like chicken. I'm yet to try wichetty Grubs..They say they taste like a nutty prawn, but look shocking RAW. Crock a dile "Crocodilus don'teatus" lat.. Read first line. Tried twice should have only been once. Locals seem to share my view. Tastes like $#1t (would I assume) I suppose it depends on the sauce. Nev
spacesailor Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Have had crock twice, both times I managed to get it cleaned of all the stuff they think you will like!. If it tasted anything like the "wichetty Grub" I don't think I would have had the second tasting. spacesailor

pmccarthy Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Could be the start of a new craze. Can I be punished for flying an obscene flight path?
Marty_d Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Looks like an expensive little exercise for very little gain...
David2ayo Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Interesting demo of range, navigation. Wonder whether they were using Boeing avionics - I believe Boeing have started making their own avionics again. A couple of points. 1. How far outside the cockpit did the skidball go at the 'wingtip' points. 2. Am a bit concerned about the starboard wing warp. 3. I seem to remember an Australian effort drawing a goat on a route, I think it was WA, maybe someone could find that one. Imagine the 'fun' of drawing the pic, then ensuring you have permission to fly the entire route. David
Phil Perry Posted August 3, 2017 Author Posted August 3, 2017 Looks like an expensive little exercise for very little gain... I only got to hear about it from a mate who is into FlightRadar24. . . I don't even have the . . . . . . .'APP'. . . .since I don't use. . . . .'APPS'. . . . . . . . I am a rather boring individual you see. . I only populate Ian's sites. . . Bookface, ( occasionally - where I see several Aussie friends chatting ) and a couple of blogsites in the UK, . . .Guido Fawkes, ( order-order.com ) Not the Telegraph letters ( can't remember the link ) Conservative Woman ) can't recall the link, ) and going-postal.com. . .ALL of these sites are filled with disgusting right wingers like me, who should have been drowned at birth, and will have our heads speared on spikes outside Parliament. . . ( according to all the left wing sites that we attack daily. . . . ).. . . S'a lot of fun though. . .until they ban us all. . . .
Phil Perry Posted August 3, 2017 Author Posted August 3, 2017 A number of our Guys 'N' Gals are attending a 'Bash' at a Brewery, owned by one of our members in the Cotswolds on this coming weekend. . .regrettably. I cannot attend, even though the site is a mere 120 NM away from my current domicilement. . .I have to work in the opposite direction, near to RAF Scampton ( where the Red Arrows Live ) to carry out a graphic fitting job on an exhibition unit. . .for a client I have had for 31 years. . . so I am most distraught, that I shall not be able to attend and actually MEET in the flesh, some of the people to whom I have been $hitposting with on Blogs for the last five years or so. . . . you can imagine my pain. . .you tend to build a mental picture of what folks look like. . .and we NEVER post pics of our real SELVES. . .so I am most upset that due to time and logistical physics,. . I just can't make it to this 'Bash'. . I missed the last one for similar reasons. . . folks are suggesting that I am so ugly that I am actually making excuses and hiding my countenance. . . .But to miss a 'Bash' which is being held in a REAL BREWERY. . ( The Hook Norton Brewery ) .must be the greatest fail in the history of Bashes. . . This is a tradtional brewery, which owns several local pubs,. . and has it's beers delivered in fully liveried and costumed men using shire horses and Brewery Drays. . . just like the Olde days . . . . Mind you, If it's a success, and I feel sure that it WILL be. . . I've no doubt that they'll do another one,, which HOPEFULLY Phil will be able to attend. . . ..
Jerry_Atrick Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Mr Perry - if you could impart the particulars, I may persuade Mrs. Atrick to join me for a frolic in the lovely Cotswolds... Another pic that tickled my warped sense of humour's funny bone..
Phil Perry Posted August 4, 2017 Author Posted August 4, 2017 Mr Perry - if you could impart the particulars, I may persuade Mrs. Atrick to join me for a frolic in the lovely Cotswolds... Another pic that tickled my warped sense of humour's funny bone.. The HOOK NORTON BREWERY - oddly enough, in Hook Norton Village. . .cotswolds. . . .my friend Jonathan is the Chairman of the holding Company. . there's a big 'BASH' gong on there tomorrow and Sunday, with a large party from one of my favourite internet blogs. . . . Brewery tours ( well worthwhile, ) and after you have had the tour, and the free tasting session, you can buy big containers of beer, or just boxes of bottles, with a selection of the various beers that they produce there. . . they have severasl locl pubs which they own, and service these using period Costumed draymen, delivering the beers using \Shire Horses and a Brewer's dray. I was hoing to attend this weekend, but \i hve a job over near RAF Scampton, so it will be too late for me to get there this time. . . ( Sad Face ) Great day out though, if you want to take the family Gerry. . . Google HOOK NORTON BREWERY for details. . . If you mention my name whilst there, it will do you no good whatsoever, as I post on the internet using another handle. . .I have only EVER posted on one internet site with my real name, and that's RF, and that was an accident when I first registered ! Should you be fortunate enough to encounter the BOSS. . .ask him if he's ever heard of me, and you might get 1% discount on your brewery tour, ( circa £13.50 PP) but since he's never actually met me, other than as an anonymong on the interwebby thingummy,. . that will not help your wallet. . . . ! The Brewery tour rates very highly in Tripadvisor BTW. . . .and other Breweries rate it as the best in the UK industry.. . . Brewery Tours | Visit a Brewery | Hook Norton Brewery Brewery Tours | Visit a Brewery | Hook Norton Brewery Brewery tours start from the Visitors Centre and last approximately 2 hours. The first 1½ hours are spent around the brewery where you'll see our original steam ...
