Just had a look to see which "Corrie" star had the booze problem and I see that the Grim Reaper knocked on several doors in Coronation Street in the past few months. Unscripted storyline changes?

We took the kids to "Obletter" a couple of days ago, biggest toy shop in Munich. Walking past the plastic models I glimpsed one of the German rail gun "Dora"... must have been a hell of a recoil!

Recoil. . .Yes, I'll bet ! . . . I hope the weather is OK there Marty, We've ha a lot of snow over the past couple of weeks, culminating in anther batch last night. . . .roads are normally very quickly choked in the UK as not many new drivers have much experience in the deep stuff ! With a bit of luck it will be all over when you get to Blighty. . .

Enjoy ( The Beer too ! )

Gotta be honest here OME,. . . I have not watched Corrie since Len Fairclough and Elsie Tanner had a bit of a fling. . . 1959 / 60 ?. . I forget now. My favourite character was Violet Carson, AKA Ena Sharples, . .mainly because I had an Aunt from Stockport, who had the same accent, temperament and even the Hairnet. . .

Thanks Phil,

We've already been to Blighty, spent 10 days in Skipton. On the 10th we started driving to Manchester around 12:30pm (5:50pm flight) because we heard there may be snow and traffic troubles. Got there by 3pm(ish) but much of it was driving through snow, then at the airport saw on the news that many highways, including in the Midlands, were being closed - we were lucky!

As it was our flight was delayed by 1.5 hours as the plane needed de-icing and there was a queue for the runway, but at least we made it out on the right day. (My wife made the observation that it was very similar to the movie Die Hard 2; I reminded her that it didn't end well for one of the planes in that one...)

Currently enjoying the snow in Uffing am Staffelsee (German names are almost as funny as English) - kids and us have been tobogganing today.

We fly out of Germany on the 30th and have one night in Manchester again, which we're spending on a canal boat - hope the heating works! Then fly out of Manchester back to Aus on the 31st. We actually lose New Year's day and land in Melbourne on the 2nd of January.

You're right about funny German names Marty. Whilst there, you might like to buy your wife a new bra for a Christmas present. They have numerous shops in a place which I think is called Stoppemfloppen.

HAHAHAHAHAHA don't be daft Nev,. . Brexit was never going to happen. we all knew that from day 3 after the vote. . . .the Pollies are too used to having their noses in the trough and looking forward to the EU payoffs and massive pensions if they just play the game. Which is all it is.

...and that would be different to any other year because...
