Marty_d Posted July 15 Posted July 15 5 years? I have trouble cellaring a red for more than 2 weeks. 1 2
old man emu Posted July 15 Posted July 15 I find that if I cellar the red I like for too long, the silverfish eat the carton. 2 1
spacesailor Posted July 15 Posted July 15 5 years ! . I've kept beer longer than that . Only to have my grandson tip that six-pack down the sink . Who knew , " beer goes off ". Then, I don't drink , other then to be sociable. So , my son in law & my neighbour and I had a glass of " wild Turkey 101 " yesterday. My first drink this year . Hopefully not addictive. facthunter Posted July 15 Posted July 15 I only have red with Meat and I can't afford meat.. . I felt so crook yesterday I forgot my wife's Birthday. True I could hardly walk or get in the car. They don't operate on cartilages these days. Right Knee. That's the one that's never been operated on but I've pulled the hamstring 5 times. Trouble with being an athlete.. Today LAB # 1 (of 2) had to have a neck operation under anaesthetic. He's 2 dog years old. A teenager.. Nev 1

You have only got to pay a bit more than the vinegar/pressings stuff.. Remember white's don't keep long and I wouldn't keep reds more than 5 years. Fortifieds Ports etc keep much longer but have brought up many a good meal if over indulged in after . Nev. So .. all those ancient old wines like those 50's and 60's Penfolds Grange bottles must be well and truly shot by now, then? O.K., you can send them all to me now, rather than just throw them out. 1
Marty_d Posted July 15 Posted July 15 I have a 1972, born the same year as me. No idea if it's ambrosia or vinegar. Mate bought 3 at auction about 25 years ago, we cracked one and drank it from coffee cups. It was magnificent, the smell of it filled the room. 1 1
