facthunter Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 Yes .Jerry IF you think about stuff, you will be lonely but you'd certainly buy less stuff you don't need and to "thine own self be true" In flight, where there's NO room for mistakes, I've often wished I had about double the intelligence I have where you have to make a decision in seconds which a board of Enquiry may take days to mull over, with multiple times the amount of verifiable information you have in the comfort of an airconditioned room anchored firmly to the ground .. I've yet to hear of a Control Tower crashing and burning either .Nev 2
Jerry_Atrick Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 er.. to clarify, my post was meant to be a compliment.. And yes, no ATC towers have crashed and burned, well except those that aircraft have crashd into, I guess.. But have no ATC decisions led to aircraft crashing and burning? And have no ATCOs gone to prison for decisions that had to be made under pressure for which they too, were made a scapegoat after the comfort of airconditioned courtrooms with ample of time to consider the outcome of a split second decision? 1
facthunter Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 I didn't take it any other way Jerry. The aeroplane is in a very dynamic situation till it's parked and the engines stopped. I consider that environment Unique and very challenging at times in a way a lot don't comprehend.. Most investigations don't end up in courtrooms, either. The LAW we operate under here is "Offence of Strict Liability". Nev 1 1

facthunter Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 I think I'm pretty boring, if the truth be known. Nev
