Harsh economic policies of the time were hard on the vast majority of the population. Australia sent dozens and dozens of shiploads of free food to Britain in the late 1940's and early 1950's, to prevent mass starvation. This, at a time when there was still food rationing in Australia. 2

Today WE expect Governments to do this sort of thing. Save us from toxins and scams. Make people drive safer. Stop abuse and bullying etc etc. Being negative all the time is not realistic.. Nev 1
