Further to my post about Wallet Wiazrd. I saw a TV commercial this morning advertising Nimble personal loans. I checked their website:

Gripe of the week. Petulant children. Not the garden variety type that you see in the school ground .. the ones that are very well paid at work. Mental illness excepted, jeez some people can act like spollt litte brats. We have two teams at work; one is mine and, obviously, one is someone elses. And both teams are relatively new.. but we have to work together. Well, something kicked off at work and these two mid-level managers were just doing the "he said, she said" routine and brought up old bygones. It was the Zoom equivalent of them crossing their arms, Hmmmphing, and turning their chairs to they sat back to back.

Quite extraordinary when I consider how much they are paid, and their level in teh company. They are paid to escalate real issues, not antsie pantsie rubbish. So, I had to ecuse myself from a fairly serious meeting to deal with a couple of petulant children. If it keeps up, at least one is going to get fired (and I let him know, too).

Where's Wolfie.. I need his counsel at a time like this!!!

My gripe today is the weather, It has been over 30, up to 35 for the past 3 days. Tonight there is thunder, lightning and rain, making it muggy. But it screws up the TV, specifically, the ABC. The picture is always breaking up or freezing, audio drops out, and because our free-to-air is channelled through Foxtel, it screws up all channels.

We've really only had this problem since the two storey McMansion was put up next door, blocking our line of sight to the transmission towers. If you record an ABC program (on the Foxtel box) and play it back a few days later, if the scrambling was recorded, it will screw up all channels on Foxtel. You have to reboot and reload the box.

In addition, tonight we had a momentary greyout which clobbered the internet on the NBN.

Except for the footy, Nev :stirrer:

Still working and will be for a bit tonight; also have the man cold plus, but have the fire going and a glass of Jacob's Creek Reserve Chardy...  All is good!

Gripes?

Only one really.

Sick of hearing about the USA 'situation'. It's like waiting for cyclone Alfred to cross the coast. Sure, The americans are showing the world how easy it is to destroy a country (or two) without wasting any precious nuclear bombs.

But please, please. Just GET IT OVER AND DONE!

I'm with you. I was going to post something similar to your comment in "What has Trump done now". I'm thinking that that thread shuld be closed for the mental health protection of members.

The trouble is, even if you removed all reference to him here, about 8 out of 10 news articles have "Trump" in the title.

Possibly shouldn't be surprising that if an entirely unsuitable person is elected to the highest office in the world's leading economy (for the moment), he'll do shit that's newsworthy.

But can't we have an Intermission like we used to at the pictures?

You MAY have a Wee wee if it makes you feel more comfortable and "open your Bowels" if it's had that effect on you. My 2 dogs understand the word "Intermission" more than if I say "Wanna go out side?". but IF you do happen to  miss the "end of the World" I have been assured that a re-run is not likely. . It's as they say "In the Lap of the Gods".  Nev

Have you bought any avocados recently?

A doctor told me that eating them is a way to control one's bad cholesterol. I had never really developed a taste for them, but I did find a way to enjoy them, and have started eating more. However the quality of avocados has been very poor recently. They are small, hard as rocks and will not ripen. I thought that the poor quality available locally was due to my supermarket buying cheap, but enquiries with café owners and chain supermarkets revealed the same thing.

Perhaps the poor quality is due to growers harvesting what could be saved after the terrible weather on the east coast growing areas.
