nomadpete Posted September 11 Share Posted September 11 Gripe of the day.... On monday, I missed some phone calls - the phone hadn't rung but some silent texts informed me of missed calls. I got onto the telco website and discovered they had a PLANNED outage for 3 days, but a unplanned fault as well. Then all service cut out. Two days later, the Tas Fire Service sent us an advice that there is 'degraded' internet in our area, and not to trust their internet warning system, only trust our pager for callouts. Today I opened YouTube and that was gone. Just the search tab. When I go to YouTube, I never know what will attract my attention. onetrack Posted September 12 Share Posted September 12 (edited) I found the YT links were usually a lot of clickbait crap, anyway - with every second link showing a photo of a near-naked female, which had no relevance to the crap in the rubbishy video, most times. You could remove 90% of YT videos and you'd never miss them. "Instructional" or "Important Advice" videos which have zero value, and are solely airhead entertainment videos, make up a lot of the rubbish on there. The Yanks are obsessed with outrageously large boobs. I always feel sorry for the women in those pictures. Can you imagine the strain on their back muscles and spine that the weight would cause? And in later life, when the years have condemned, they would remember their size 40EE bras while trying to put on a 36 Long. Just have a look at movies from the 30s and 40s. Beautiful, slim, small-breasted women. An exception might be Mae West, but she was a buxom lass all over. I was about to say - generally the content Youtube wants to show you is highly related to your prior searches. I'd say browser cookies because having a dynamic IP address, I get a new address every session.
