gosh the power of propaganda ... Its hard to believe an educated person like an airline pilot could believe that crap. Maybe displays like this helped him get promoted?

 

Here's an example though where promotion was not involved... Harry Schneider would not fix Jantar gliders. One day, thinking there must be a technical reason like resins, I asked him why not.

Plenty of people believe there's no evolution when cells mutate and insects can change in one generation. Religion can blind people to facts. Its actually the way it works. People want answers. That's the way the mind works and a NICE answer( for your circumstances) is more comforting. It's used to allow the poor to continue to tolerate their condition.
