Jerry_Atrick Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 I am actively encouraging our children to elope or only involve those whom they consider close to them - I used to cringe as a kid going to weddings where we hardly knew the nuptials and had to mingle pointlessly with a bunch of remote "friends" and family, most of which we didn't like that much anyway (otherwise they wouldn't have been so remote). One's marriage should be amongst people near and dear - not a display of how many people one knows...
spacesailor Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 The upper Brat-class. Well they're way out in their on league, still have "coming of age" party's. And our wives think (dream) that it's Romantic. A lord mayor of Auburn springs to mind spacesailor

spacesailor Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 Another one for the minority parties, Bestiality marriage Coming soon to a country like yours. spacesailor
Bruce Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 I read the other day that sex doll-robots were becoming so good that people were wanting to marry them. How disgusting... a robot woman who always agrees with what you say and is always ready for sex. They gotta make this illegal huh.
octave Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 Another one for the minority parties,Bestiality marriage Coming soon to a country like yours. spacesailor if you are implying that bringing our marriage laws into line with nearly every other western country will lead to bestiality becoming legal then perhaps you could point to a country where this has actually happened? Otherwise, it is just hysterical nonsense. The majority of Australians voted for marriage equality so you are just going to have to deal with it.
spacesailor Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 " woman who always agrees with what you say and is always ready for sex." What a groom thinks he's marrying. LoL spacesailor
spacesailor Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 And a LOT of voters said NO. And where's our Politician, voting Yes, against our West Sydney Suburbs wishes. She's lost our vote next time, ( pity we cant sack her for insubordination) spacesailor
octave Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 And a LOT of voters said NO.And where's our Politician, voting Yes, against our West Sydney Suburbs wishes. She's lost our vote next time, ( pity we cant sack her for insubordination) spacesailor We do not have a system where members have to vote with reference to the opinions of their electorate however their electorate can vote against them at the next election. if you feel that a member should vote with direct reference to their electorate than you must be annoyed that it took so long the assisted dying legislation to get through in Victoria and you must be really annoyed that the rest of Australias pollies are not reflecting their electorate with reference to assisted dying since opinion polls show solid support. With reference to SSM 61.6% to 38.4 a clear result you may as well deal with it in a mature and dignified way.
spacesailor Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 But I still think it's Not right to make attending SSM compulsory. spacesailor
nomadpete Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 Last time I looked, Marriage isn't compulsory, Attending a wedding isn't compulsory. Selling flowers or cakes to a wedding isn't compulsory. None of that has changed regardless of the people involved
spacesailor Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 One can decline a Hetro wedding without repercussions, But decline a homosexual wedding & your name is ssheet, & you wont be forgiven even if bedridden !. spacesailor
nomadpete Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 I think you'll find it's the same whatever the genders are. Unless those judging you are, happen to be bigots, in which case you can feel free to disregard their judgement.

You could also be in the doghouse for declining a hetero wedding. The fact that one same-sex couple may be being unreasonable says nothing at all about any other couple and it does not add any weight to the SSM debate. The fact that you may have a problem with an unreasonable same-sex couple does not mean my sister should not be able to marry.
Marty_d Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 May be worth a punt if they can they cook and clean as well? What, so you want them to do more than a human??
spacesailor Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 No problems with the youngster, But his/her mother (my niece) is a different story, and his friends, some are very camp. spacesailor. They do want more than normal!. spacesailor
nomadpete Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Yeah, but on balance, I know a few people who think they are normal, and they think that they deserve more than normal from the rest of us!
spacesailor Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Can you see the outcry if a christian organization, put on a big spectacular, and banned the lgbti's & none christians from attending. Took this from the net!. "This does not bode well for our society. The evidence of this activity is well established. LGBTI people are allowed to work in most organisations and achieve great things, those who not agree with SSM risk their jobs, intimidation evidence already seen. Why is this minority allowed to get away with removing the human rights of others?" it was the last paragraph. So I'll wait & see if things are better. spacesailor
facthunter Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 If you give everyone the right to discriminate on some "problem" they might have with someone's way of doing things, religion, race when does that stop?. If you state I won't deal with you because you are a Methodist you would appear to be a bit shaky.. If you won't deal with a certain Methodist because you know they are a slow payer, like last time you dealt with the person, that's another aspect not direct discrimination.. Nev
spacesailor Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 But thats the problem with the LGBTI people, they do discriminate, then say we're the prejudiced ones. spacesailor
octave Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 But thats the problem with the LGBTI people, they do discriminate, then say we're the prejudiced ones.spacesailor What makes you so sure that know what all LGBT people think. You sem to presume that there is no diversity amongs these folks. It is a shame if you feel that you life has been scared by discrimination but I don't think it comes anywhere near the the kind of thing my sister suffered through in the past
facthunter Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Sorry I don't agree. They cop the greatest serves and ridicule generally and get beaten up even. It was even a crime until fairly recently here and in some countries its fixed by having them put to death. I'm not of that predisposition but a lot of nice clean intelligent and law abiding people ARE andit has been so down through recorded history. I don't have any particular difficulty with all this . They do their thing and I do mine. The direction of the discrimination on balance is clearly against them. The antics of some of the Christian lobby disgusts me. The people VOTED clearly on this. How would you treat someone close to you, perhaps a sibling, who decided to "come out" after years of being afraid of persecution, and living a double life in fear of being found out and probably losing their job and unable to live in some country town because of the general attitude of some groups real or perceived. Nev
spacesailor Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Nev I once and only Once went to the Sydney Mardi Gra parade, "Our Parade. Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is a global beacon of diversity, acceptance and LGBTQI rights. We aim to raise the visibility of the lesbian, gay, ..." Actually went because said niece wanted to: (show off) her son who was on a float. We were picked on because we were a normal family with Mum,Dad & four Daughter's, & were accosted to let let my daughters dress as men, and have same sex relationships. None of the girls were at an age to have sex of any type as it was, if not "is" illegal for underage relations . spacesailor

My sister is a 60 year woman who has been in a relationship with the same woman for 30 or so years. I know you THINK you know what she thinks but you don't I know you think SSM is going to ruin your life but I assume you havent been assaulted because of your sexuality
