What defines 'real ones'?

In 2023

Born in Australia = 18,473,240

Foreign Born = 8,175,640

Is that about 44% of the population? It was 30% back in 2019. We have one of the most diverse ethnicity profiles in the world.

But I cannot use that statistic to make any conclusion about 'work hard for good money'. (Which is not at all related to country of origin)

I think that the change from what we were over 50 years ago to what we are now is simply a result of the evolution of a society in response to external inputs. It might seem to be a case of lost innocence, but I think that it is inevitable, especially given how intimately the means of electronic communication and rapid international travel have greatly reduced Australia's 'tyranny of distance'.

Reminds me of the `Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow' story, except that this looks more like the `Headless Horse of Sleepy Hollow'.

Your question begs a clarification. How do you define "the real ones"?

I rather thought you were referring to our cultural evolution over the last couple of hundred years.

Going back to Immediate Post war. Rationing still existed. People went without   A car TV House Phones Refrigerators washing machines and air cond. No one whinged. We knew worse places existed.  We'd seen the effect of a WAR in other places   Houses were small.  Nev
