In 2023 Born in Australia = 18,473,240 Foreign Born = 8,175,640 Is that about 44% of the population? It was 30% back in 2019. We have one of the most diverse ethnicity profiles in the world. But I cannot use that statistic to make any conclusion about 'work hard for good money'. (Which is not at all related to country of origin) 1

It might seem to be a case of lost innocence, but I think that it is inevitable, especially given how intimately the means of electronic communication and rapid international travel have greatly reduced Australia's 'tyranny of distance'. 1 1
facthunter Posted April 8 Posted April 8 You are speculating about a possible reason for the change. . That's another Story. Nev

rgmwa Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Reminds me of the `Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow' story, except that this looks more like the `Headless Horse of Sleepy Hollow'. 1

facthunter Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Going back to Immediate Post war. Rationing still existed. People went without A car TV House Phones Refrigerators washing machines and air cond. No one whinged. We knew worse places existed. We'd seen the effect of a WAR in other places Houses were small. Nev 1
