Watch the Mig (or was it a Sukhoi) doing that impressive plonk-down landing.

The video artist put in some vague shadows as it skimmed the sea surface, but not a ripple from the massive blast of its jet exhausts.

I've never been bitten by a donkey, but I know horse bites hurt. I got bitten on the stomach once; that wasn't nice. A lady I once knew had half an ear bitten off by a neddy.

Horses will play up like a second hand lawnmower if you are nervous around them. They respond positively to confidence and will detect a lack of confidence straight away. They are much like dogs in that regard. In nature a dog pack has a leader and a mob of horses has the alpha stallion to look up to. They look to their leader for everything in their life. When domesticated, their human owner fills that role of leader of the mob, and if the leader is timid and nervous, the horse feels very insecure. The result of that is a reaction of playing up, trying to buck you off and other annoying capers. But 9 times out of 10 it's the rider's fault.
