willedoo Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 I watched an interview tonight with Viacheslav Fetisov, double Olympic champion and former NHL All-Star, nowdays a member of the Russian Federation State Duma. Recently he was named a U.N. goodwill ambassador for the Arctic and Antarctic and has announced plans for a special ice hockey match at the North Pole in March or April of next year to raise awareness of climate change. There should be a few stars playing, including some from other sports that they are hoping to rope in. Russian President Vladimir Putin and former U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, both ice hockey players, have been invited. They are also trying to talk Leonardo DiCaprio into playing if he can learn to skate in time for the match. It should be a good event and promotion for environmental issues affecting the polar regions.
