Trump has a penchant for shooting off at the mouth and hitting his foot.

Not this time; this was the carefully-prepared destruction of a major effort to address Ameica's obesity epidemic.

To keep the junk food industry happy he is prepared to sacrifice the health of children.

Sorry, I thought that you meant that you don't usually agree with the writer of the article.

I don't believe that you meant to say that you support the destruction of programs that seem to have had bi-partisan support in the past.

OME all that went over my head.

I was saying that this wasn't one of Trump's many "shoot from the mouth" moments. This was a long-planned attack on Michelle Obama, who had upset his ego with her comments about the White House needing an adult.

As much as a lot of people didn't like the Trumpet winning the election, the fact remains that it was the Democrats that lost it by putting up the same useless, tired old hacks as candidates. And history repeats; they're doing it again. The way it's going, the Democrats are going to possibly inflict another four years of a moronic Trump presidency on the American people and the world. The political system stinks. Those with any talent are kept down and buffoons get the nomination.

And here's a thought. If they didn't have the two term rule, would Obomber have beaten Trump. Maybe, maybe not. Towards the end of his second term, he was on the nose with a lot of people, and far more popular in this country than his own. America might have been stuck with the orange clown either way.

Another bad thing about the U.S. state of politics is the effect on the rest of the world who cannot vote in American elections. A succession of presidents can cause the deaths of millions, wreck economies and destroy nations all around the world, and none of the victims have any right to vote out the dickheads who are doing it to them. It's a crazy world. We're really spoiled here where Scotty from Marketing is all we have to worry about.

A lot of truth in it. During Trump's time, the U.S. has been an illegal occupying force in Syria and caused the deaths of many civilians. We support the Yanks in all their endevours there. More recently, Trump ordered the illegal assassination of the military leaders of two foreign countries in Iraq. Whether it be Iraq or Syria, our government and forces support Trump there. No matter who might have gone there originally, the fact remains that their clown and our clown are the ones in charge of it now.

Spacey's right.

You've got to admire Little New Zealand, the mouse that roared. Remember years ago when they told the US Nave to keep their nuclear warships out of NZ waters?

Requirements for Being Granted New Zealand Citizenship

The requirements for citizenship may not be as intensive as one would think:

New Zealand residence;

At least 16 years of age;

Physically present in New Zealand for at least 1,350 days during the five years before your application, and for at least 240 days in each of those five years;

Ability to read and write in English;

Understanding the “responsibilities and privileges” of New Zealand citizenship;

Of good character; and,

Intention to remain in New Zealand if granted citizenship.

It's a shame and a tad embarrassing for them that the roaring mouse soon turned to a whimper when they bent over for the French. That blotted the copy book a bit. But the nuclear thing was admirable.

The circus continues. Donald still has his job; a foregone conclusion. He seems to be quite amused at the Democrat primaries debacle. It will be interesting to see who wins the final nomination. My guess would be Bernie or Elizabeth Warren. Creepy Joe has too much baggage to go the distance.

I think Trump would roll Warren easily but Bernie might be a contest. Bernie's not popular the establishment, but neither was Trump and look where he is now.

I think the democrats wold be better going after him through well thought out policies and a charismatic leader than trying to force the virtual impossible and looking like they are children who have been throwing their toys out of the epram since Hillary was so hard done by..

Speaking to an American friend of mine, DT is a shoe in for the next eleection at the moment.. People see the deomcrats as whining sore losers...

I'd agree, Jerry. My bet is Trump will get back easily. Bernie might be able to give him a bit of a run, but Trump could easily run a campaign on Bernie the socialist coming to take your money away.

Regarding the Democrat primary count stuff up, most of the blame is being put on a faulty app. One Democrat congresswoman has called for the FBI to investigate...wait for it...... Russian Hackers... responsible for the count stuff up. It just goes to show how the combined IQ of the Democrats will keep them out of office. Trump could publicly bite heads off chickens and still beat them. I'm afraid the world will be stuck with him for a while yet.

IF Trump gets back in there will be a new era of chaos unlike anything you might  anticipate. This type of person doesn't moderate.  Why should a GOD not do all in his power, (good or evil) when enabled by a gullible following, looking for a new Messiah. Nev

I thought it was the failure of Australia to support NZ that caused those rainbow warrior french agents to get away. Is there something I don't know?

And it is my understanding that NZ have only applied the same restrictions against nuclear ships that San Francisco and New York have done. Now I know that the US refuses to say which ships are nuclear, at least to foreign countries. Good on NZ say I.

It amused me to see that a nuclear ship was berthed in Melbourne for 2 weeks and the greenies who would protest against a nuclear power station near Broken Hill were conspicuous by their absence.

It must have been unloading kale and almond milk - Greenie food staples.

I reckon it depends which Americans you talk to.

I'm sure about half of them, and hopefully more, see him for the skidmark on the toilet bowl that he actually is.

Steady on, Storchy - each to their own! And welcome back - hadn't heard from you for a while..

Marty - Have to remember that DT was elected with fewer votes than Hillary... The bnottom line is that the economy os going well, unemployment is down, there is a patritoc feel in the air and although it is not down to Trump - hey - why rock the boat? And this bloke was telling me the good things he had been doing that we don't hear about... Exacly what he said, I cam't recall as we had a few beers, but something about cancelling profligate spending (and not by cancelling welfare budgets, etc.. but for example, am Air Force 1 replacement was going to cost a gazillion so he apparently said to Boeing, no way.. and the price was apprently dropped to more commercial rates... or something - going off hearsay and haven't tried to validate it.

Whether or not it holds true is immaterial.. Apparently he is not as disliked as Obama was and he got re-elected..

Just echoing a middle class person who spends a lot of time in Europe..

I remember the Air Force One affair; early in his Presidency, I think. There's no doubt incumbency will help. The only reason Baby Bush and Obomber got a second term was that factor combined with woeful opposition candidates. Like a lot of elections, they didn't win it, the opposition lost it.

I'm not sure how Pete the Mayor will go further down the line or how he would go against Trump. Maybe it might come down to Bernie or Warren. Trump has plenty of scope for a campaign against Bernie, particularly pushing the socialist line. Also a bit unknown how Warren would stand up to Trump's bullying in a campaign. I think Creepy Joe has Buckley's chance of the nomination, and to be honest, anyone, including Trump would be a better President than him.

It will be interesting if Pete Buttigeig gets the Democrat nomination - the first gay Presidential contender.

I always thought it was pronounced 'butter - geeg', but he pronounces it 'boot-a-jayj'
