The greatest worry for many Democrat-voting Americans is that the GOP believes that armed Republican citizens should patrol the voting booths - purportedly to "keep the peace".

The sight of multiple armed civilians at voting booths is enough to deter anyone who is fearful of being attacked as an "outsider" at voting booths, either due to physical appearance, racial targeting, or being targeted as an illegal voter or illegal immigrant.

Few people rolling up to voting booths would carry all the necessary evidence that they were entitled to vote. Just making voters give up, because it's all too hard is one of the subtle Trump and GOP tactics.

Trump's performances are always just rants - about the "weaponized DOJ attacks" on him - about how great, dictators like Xi Jinping and Putin are; "top of their game" Yes, that's right, but their game is total domination of the population, and suppression of dissent, and cult worship of the President.

He rants on about refugees being "criminals and mental cases" - without producing a single fact backing anything he says.

He always rants on about the "big, beautiful numbers" of his assembled followers - and becomes enraged, when it's obvious that Harris is garnering big crowds at her speeches.

He indulges in vile and vitriolic personal abuse on a large scale, such that it would see him demoted from any company or leadership position, if he used the terms on employees or underlings.

When he can't find a clever, pointed and truthful answer to something that upsets him, he resorts to vicious name-calling, like a five year old in the schoolyard.

I was pleased to see Pelosi ripping him a new one in her latest outburst. The fact that Trump and so many of his supporters laughed at Pelosi's husband being attacked and seriously injured by a nutcase wielding a hammer, is pretty indicative of their total lack of empathy for anyone who is a political enemy.

The world of Trump is a simplistic and nasty one where his worshippers are "good and great", and anyone who doesn't support him, is "bad", a "dog", "ugly", or worse.

He's now suing the Justice Department with political persecution for bringing charges against him for not giving back the classified documents he tried to keep!

A blind man on a galloping horse can see that Trump doesn't have the cognitive capability to carry out the duties of the presidency. Anyone who has had a family member descend into dementia, or is a professional in geriatric mental health can see the signs of its happening to Trump. Either that, or he has other diagnosable psychological conditions. A responsible political organisation which maintains the hope of gaining control of a country's policy direction would replace such a person before polling day.

Can you imagine what would happen if Trump won, and then was found to be demented?  If the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide,... declare that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Given the type of power players in the back room, it is easy to see that such a coup could take place and Vance looks like the perfect puppet for those faceless man to make dance to their tune.

The Trump/Musk interview was a non event as expected. A rambling Trump and his autistic billionaire fanboy. Neither is capable of stringing a coherent sentence together.

I'm halfway through reading "QANON and on (A short and shocking history of internet conspiracy cults)" by Van Badham.  (A good find at our street library!)

It's absolutely shocking reading the history of QANON and what their followers believe.  There are literally hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people in the US who actually believe that celebrities and Democrats rape, slaughter and eat children, and that Trump is a god-like figure who is cunningly fighting to bring those people down.  Their view of him is that he's playing 3D chess against opponents playing 2D chess.
They think every lie he says is absolute truth, when he's proven to be wrong then it's fake news (or a cunning ploy of the Donald).  They see it as their duty to harass, threaten and in some cases even kill members of this evil cabal (ie normal people).

Yes most are just sad and lonely keyboard warriors wasting their lives and gullibly falling for anything the Russians dangle in front of them, but if even 1% were motivated to actually take up weapons then it'd be an ugly situation.

What's worse is that this cult has gone worldwide, and there's true believers in pretty much every country - we're not exempt.

Kamala HAS to win this election - the alternative is terrifying.

What does this all say about humanity that he still garners enough support to have voted him in as president already, let alone give him a second crack, even against Biden and still be a threat against Harris?

I shudder for the world my kids are inheriting

Supported by billionaires, Russia, conspiracy theorists and the religious, in a land where most people are at least nominally religious, in a time where attention spans have decreased and more people trust news from social media (which is owned by said billionaires, heavily trolled by foreign actors and has weighted algorithms skewed to support Trump) than fact-checked reporting.

The Democrats face an uphill battle, I just hope that enough sane people in the US can be bothered to get off their arses in November and do the right thing.

Rupee is much more despicable. than Goebbels who was doing a job for the Cause. So was Wagner the musician. Albert Spiers was an architect. These people had skills and could speak  and articulate.. You wouldn't buy Trump a beer at the RSL if you judged him by his looks and speaking ability. Nev

I saw one of those Youtube videos where they interview Trump supporters. One bloke was convinced Michelle Obama was really a man and there was a conspiracy cover up to hide the fact. The interviewer asked him where he got his news sources from and he said he didn't read or watch any news as it was all fake and he gets his facts from Telegram.

Actually, the reason I'm posting this picture is that it a very recent one. Just look at his right ear. He must be an extremely fast healer if he did get a cut to the earlobe.

The shot did not hit the lobe, it was near the top of the ear. There is a slight discolouration at the spot, indicated in the attached.

Read the number of outright lies HE has made so far, Americans have been indoctrinated with the Concept of their own governments corruption.. for years. It's the underlying theme of most films. Trump is good at Playing them. Mainly people from the rust belts. More promise that actuality though. The breaks go to the already RICH..  Nev
