Apparently if the fraud is proved, the penalty is simply monetary - no gaol, and a lifetime prohibition on doing business in the State of New York. Not that he would suffer from the prohibition. He simply needs to hold shares in companies doing business there. The bloke with 49% of the stock can usually have the greatest say in a business, and he only needs his kids to have another 2% of the stock to be in control.

Let’s hope they go after his criminal kids as well. The last thing America needs is a crime family in the White House.

Donald Trump accused of sharing nuclear submarine details with Australian billionaire Anthony Pratt

Former US president Donald Trump reportedly discussed "potentially sensitive" details of America's nuclear submarine program with an Australian billionaire.

The American ABC news outlet reported that Mr Trump told Anthony Pratt the supposed number of nuclear warheads on US subs, and how close they could get to a Russian submarine without being detected.

Attorney: "There's no way for Trump to escape this"

Michael Cohen, former attorney for Donald Trump, is set to testify against the former president in an ongoing New York business fraud trial.

Cohen told CNN that Trump is directly implicated in the case and "there's no way for him to escape this."

Prosecutors allege that Trump and his sons manipulated asset values to secure better loan and insurance terms.

A judge has already ruled that Trump committed fraud, and the current trial aims to determine the financial penalties, which could amount to $250 million.

Cohen estimates that the total damages could exceed $600 million, a sum Trump may not have the liquidity to cover.

Cohen, who has previously served time for testifying against Trump, confirmed that he has evidence to support the prosecution.

Trump recently dropped a civil suit against Cohen, which Cohen believes is due to Trump's reluctance to testify under oath.

Despite appeals from Trump's legal team, the New York court has allowed the trial to proceed while temporarily preserving Trump's business licenses in the state.

Indeed - it was his role in concealing payments as business expenses to Story Daniels or some such thing..

BTW, This shows what a circuis the USA has made of its legal system. In virtually any other part of the democratic world, anyway, it is illegal to make public prejudicial statements about a case, and in fact can damage the plaintiff or prosecutions case, although it appears to be allowedd in the USA. Anything that is prejudicial that could sway a court could result in the case being thrown out due to compromising fairness and impartiality. In this case, as I understand, it is government civil case and not a criminal case despite Trump potentially losing his licence to do business. In addition, I understand this is a damages hearing as the judge already ruled Trump has defrauded finance companies and I guess the IRS, so these rules of prejudice may not apply in this case.

But there are so many social media and MSM outlets stating (as oppposed to alleging) his guilt in cases not yet even started; that it is hard to see how they would not be considered prejudicial in any other democratic jurisdiction.

Trump is the MOST hard done by person in History ever IF you listen to His TAKE on everything. His Neice MARY knows why HE should NEVER be the POTUS or C in C of the US armed forces. The GOP are fools in the way this has been handled.  (STORMY Daniels was a pornstar and the money was to quieten the STORY).   Nev

Trump has already been found guilty of fraud by the judge who has cancelled his licences to operate businesses in New York State. The civil trial now is just about how much money he has to pay as restitution for the fraud.
