Illegal Immigrants ? ? ? ? ?

Frankly TP that is a bit rude. This situation has been been inflamed by half truths and a strange willingness to support what is in mine and many others eyes barbaric behaviour. And you accuse me of inflaming the situation. It seems the only thing becomimg inflamed is you.

I consider the post 408 which you gave an agree to in regard to older people be much more rude. You people seem to think you you can say what ever you like and no one can comment on it as if it is out of bounds. TP was expressing an opinion about your activity which I think was correct.

On the contrary Methusala, there is a simple answer, and that would be that we must protect our borders if we are to maintain our lifestyle and standard of living. After all even with its many flaws this country is still considered to be one of the best places on the planet to live. I have enjoyed it, you have enjoyed it and I would like our children and grandchildren to also be able to.

I agree it is not ideal to make life hard for others when they arrive uninvited, but it is a tough world out there. If you don't think so ask our aboriginals, the American Indians or anybody the Romans or the Spaniards or the French or the Mongolians or...... Have conquered over the years.

You like research, have a look at how some of the European countries are coping with their uninvited guests, and for most of them they can't do anything about it because they don't have the moat we have.

I believe it is hypocritical of your side of them fence to be flying around in your aircraft enjoying the good life available to us, while you are busy telling our side that we should sit quietly by and watch it slip away. Our country is this way because the majority of our culture made it so, and many have given their lives to keep it. Those wishing to flee their country are doing so because the majority of their culture made it what it is. We shouldnt be importing their ways here.

Regards Bill

But our society is declining. Look how many churches are closing every year. How often do you go to church with your children and grandchildren? Do you host mid week prayer meetings? How about evangelising, when was the last time you shared the good book with your neighbours?

If most of these people have travelled through several countries where millions manage to live happily, in a bid to get here, I feel they are trying for their best option of choices, and no one can blame them for that. They'd be fully aware of the more than generous welfare benefits that Australia has to offer, and would naturally prefer to jump on that band wagon, who wouldn't?

When i've watched the TV show Border Security, I can't help but think that there's got to be a lot more to the job in hand, other than nicking someone for bringing in a bit of their favourite food which they consume themselves with the family, or profiting from the drug trade. I would far prefer to see a show about those that have arrived by boats, and learn more about the reasons they are here in the first place. I'm sure in so many cases, it would show that the desired destination is more one of choice, than genuine needs.

If myself and family were living in an area of unrest, and felt the need to get out and live somewhere safer, I would be grateful to be able to settle in the first place that offered me a safe haven. Anywhere else would surely simply be one of choice.

To live in a country with secure borders, should make everyone feel safer, and surely that is a desirable aim.

If potential arrivals are forwarned that the only way in, is strictly via the appropriate channels, the trade in people trafficing would just about grind to a halt, as word gets around that those offering these services talk ball***t for nothing more than their own personal gain.

If you go to the trouble to find someone who knows someone who offers to help you, but it'll cost you, you know you are doing wrong and this is the first step down the wrong path, as it is frought with considerable risk. Sadly, the world has too many gamblers who are gullible.

Sadly this is true, but if we have a brain in our head, we need to use it and ask the question why?

When we come up with the answer, immediate steps need to be taken before the situation becomes irreversible.

If your aircraft had a known fault, it's wise to fix it for the long term gain.

Should you like I drop by and share good word of the "Church of Satan" with you?

Pick any imaginary friend, we can talk about that if it helps you get through life.

Muslim communities are strong because religion binds them together. How else could anyone endure years being stuck in a refugee system?

Most zealots hang together in groups where their ideas are reinforced and not questioned.

As for the refugee system, someone once said....."no man knows how much he can endure until he must".

I lived in a system like that once, trapped, unable and not allowed to leave the country, forced to work long hours for a pittance, constantly threatened and belittled. They call it the Child Support Agency.

That must have been terrible; hope things are better these days.

Obviously if we espouse to be a "christian" nation someone has to read the bible out aloud, proud and without any apology to the socialists. We can't just read it on the throne.

and what prevents a "socialist" (god, do you even know the meaning of that term, or is it used just to label a person with a differing belief? - similar to being called a watermelon, i suppose) from being a Christian?? Or Moslem, for that matter.

Nice argument, shame about the facts.....

I can't vouch for everyone, but I hope that we're not a "Christian" nation, those doctored American emails carrying on about one nation under god, do not apply here. You can be ethical and have morals without religion.

After 19 years of it I'm finally out of their system, but there are many just starting their long journey of government sanctioned financial and psychological abuse. I've heard many horror stories about CSA, mine is mild compared to some, I saw stats somewhere claiming that around 5% of Australian CSA payers end up committing suicide, it would not surprise me if that were accurate.
